Everything you need to know — step by step
Your hub for sharing and recycling FTC robot parts within the community.
TurtleCycle connects FTC teams so they can share, lend, and recycle parts instead of letting valuable hardware gather dust. This guide walks you through every section of your dashboard so you can get the most out of it.
My Inventory
Your private parts storage — only your team sees it.
Shared Parts
Public listings that any team can discover and request.
Requests
Incoming requests from teams that want your parts.
Your team's private parts workspace
Only your team can see parts in this tab. Use it to keep a living record of every part you own — motors, servos, sensors, structural pieces, and more — whether or not you intend to share them.
Add a part
Click Add Part in the top-right. Fill in category, title, condition, quantity, and location.
Edit or delete
Use the pencil and trash icons on any row to update details or remove a part.
Convert to a donation
Click the heart icon to instantly move a private part to the public Shared Parts tab.
Table or card view
Toggle between a dense table and a visual card grid using the view-switcher in the toolbar.
Your public listings — visible to the whole community
Every part in this tab is publicly discoverable on the Browse Parts page. Other teams can find your listing, read the details, and send you a request.
🎁
Give Away
A permanent transfer — the requesting team keeps the part. Great for parts you no longer need.
🔄
Lend
A temporary loan — the part must be returned. Perfect for competition loans between teams.
Toggle availability on or off without deleting the listing — handy if a part is temporarily unavailable.
Switch between Give & Lend modes at any time from the edit menu.
Preview how your listing looks on the Browse Parts page before publishing.
Connecting teams directly — no middleman
When another team finds one of your shared parts and clicks "Request", a notification appears in the Requests tab with a red badge counter.
Another team requests your part
They submit their team name, number, and a contact email on the Browse Parts page.
You review the request
The Requests tab shows the part name, requesting team, and their contact details.
Coordinate directly
Reply to their email to arrange pickup, shipping, or drop-off. TurtleCycle steps back — it's all between the teams.
Private vs. public — know the difference
There are two entry points for adding parts, each with a different scope. Choosing the right one from the start saves you extra steps.
